Taiwan’s
Efforts toward the Millennium Development Goals |
|
|
| |
In
light of the unbalanced development in the international
community brought on by globalization, the United Nations
in 2000 established the Millennium Development Goals,
which include eight goals and 18 targets, intending to
narrow the gap between advanced and developing countries.
As part of its efforts to help reach the Millennium Development
Goals, in addition to promoting sustainable development,
Taiwan assists developing nations in the areas of economic
development, environmental protection, and social development. |
